New Testosterone Gel Could Boost Love Life Of Menopausal Women

A low or reduced sex drive in women, especially those of menopausal age has been linked with (rather surprisingly) a reduction in the level of the male sex hormone testosterone.

American company BioSante are working on a special testosterone gel specifically aimed at helping women with this problem.

Their product – called LibiGel is now in the latter stages of clinical trials, the gel, which is used by applying to the upper arm, where it is quickly absorbed into the blood stream, will (it is claimed) increase levels of the hormone to those of younger, pre-menopausal women. Trials so far have been quite positive with increases in sexual desire and enjoyment of up to 238% being reported.

Vaginal dryness is another symptom of the menopause that this treatment should (we are told) rectify.

Claudine Domoney from BioSante said

“Women suffering from low testosterone can already benefit from a small dose of the same testosterone gel men are given when they have low levels of the hormone.”

The product is not yet licenced and it is expected to take another 5 years to become widely available.

Intivar gel is a proven vaginal renewal gel, made totally from 100% natural ingredients.

Intivar is proven to cure vaginal dryness, tighten the vaginal muscle wall and improve the sexual responses that deplete with the menopause.

Shock results from Menopause Supplement Trials

For years women have turned to various natural methods to try and alleviate the symptoms of menopause including night sweats and hot flushes. With concerns over hormone replacement therapy and possible side effects associated with the treatment, many products have been suggested as natural alternatives.

Natural Alternative To HRT Therapy

One supplement that has always been thought of as effective in controlling hot flushes is Soy tablets but after a two year study by the University of Miami it has been suggested that Soy has little or no effect on reducing the problem.

In fact the scientists who controlled the study (that involved 250 women and a mix of soy and placebo products) discovered that the women who took Soy were actually MORE likely to have hot flushes.

The study was launched following an initiative study by Womens Health into what happen when women stopped taking HRT after discovering the link between it and heart and cancer risks.

What Is Soy

Soy is a natural bean found in food stuffs including soy milk and sauce, tofu and miso soup, the study involved splitting the test subjects into two groups, half were given daily doses of 200mg soya isoflavines, the others were given a harmless placebo pill, no one knew what group they were in.

Study Results

After two years the group and the results were evaluated, both groups showed similar results regarding the loss on bone density, they all reported similar menopause symptoms, but 48% of the group who took the Soya generally reported an increase in hot flushes when compared to the group who took the placebo.

The archives of medicine did report however that there were no serious side effects associated with taking soy supplements

Conclusion

This study produced results that were totally unexpected; the scientists expected it to show that Soy would help women, especially those in the early stages of menopause.

The study did finish by saying that Soy could still have health benefits, but it would have to be taken over a longer period of time, say from puberty.

Other recommendations for women in menopause are taking regular exercise along with vitamin D and calcium supplements.

Sex And The Menopause

When we reach the menopause the changes in our bodies can range from minor symptoms such as mild flushes, becoming more emotional, a lower libido and general tiredness. Then there are the more unlucky of us who experience a total lack of sexual desire.

In some cases we go from having a regular healthy sex life with our partners to finding the whole thing a complete nightmare. The two main hurdles we have to overcome are often vaginal dryness and loss of muscle tone in the vaginal wall. There are products on the market for dryness and there are exercises for helping to restore tightened muscles in the vagina, but what we really need is a product that will work on the both these problems. After all we all want to enjoy sex for as long as possible and nothing puts more of a strain on a marriage or partnership than an unwilling partner. The closeness you once had will start to diminish.

Bottom line ladies – we want our youthful desire back.

With Intivar Female Renewal Gel you could start yourself on the road to recovering your libido and more.

Made from entirely natural ingredients this vaginal renewal gel will instantly tighten and lubricate the vagina. Intivar helps to encourage the natural production of lubrication and with added bonus of improving the sensitivity in the clitoris, these two things will help make sex more enjoyable once again.

Intivar contains Miraform which is an extract of the herb Pueraria mirifica, a proven libido enhancing extract which is completely safe to use with no side effects.

More About The Effective Ingredients In Intivar

Where Can I Buy Intivar

Why Do Some Women Suffer More Than Others

It is common knowledge what the menopause is and its effects on many women, but it does seem to be worse for some women, there are reasons for this and knowing what is happening could help combat those unpleasant symptoms associated with the menopause.

It is widely thought that in particular women of African background may be prone to experiencing worse symptoms than those of Caucasian background

Another main symptom of menopause is lack of sleep, new studies suggest that the menopause doesn’t actually start in the ovaries, it may well start in the brain

A study about menopause was conducted by the National Institutes of Health. The study is referred to as Study of Women’s Health Across the Nation (SWAN). More than 3,000 women participated in the study between the ages of 42 and 52.

The study discovered that most women fell into one of three groups.

The first group had increases in their Oestrogen levels followed by a surge of luteinizing hormone (LH). This process would usually cause the women to ovulate, but it failed to have this effect in this group of women.

Oestrogen levels peaked in the second group but had no correlating surge in LH, this was triggered by the hypothalamus and pituitary gland responding to the higher oestrogen levels.

The final group had similar oestrogen levels early on in their monthly cycles. They did not experience any increase in their oestrogen levels later on like the other two groups and also their LH levels didn’t surge like other groups. However the LH levels, were higher for most of the cycle in this group than they were in the first two groups.

What this evidence demonstrated was that the test subjects brains were not responding to the hormones as expected.

Too Much Caffeine Is Not Good For You

Caffeine is another cause of the symptoms of menopause becoming worse. Drinking coffee slows the body’s absorption of minerals. It can also cut down the re-absorption of magnesium, iron and calcium.

Excess caffeine consumption can contribute to an increased level of hot flushes and night sweats in many menopausal women.

Drinking too much coffee can cut down the re-absorption of calcium, women who are heavy coffee drinkers may have an increased rate of bone loss. Excess levels of caffeine will also increase levels of stress hormones such as adrenaline, cortisol, and norepinephrine. A result of raised levels of these hormones can include raised heart rate, blood pressure and possible panic attacks.

Women who are prescribed HRT to fight menopausal symptoms and keep drinking high amounts of caffeine run the risk of developing Parkinson disease and other health problems.

Therefore it is generally accepted that women of menopausal age should cut down their intake of caffeine.

Naturally, HRT does have its place in the fight against menopausal symptoms, it is perfect for certain women, but doesn’t suit all, however there are many other totally natural products that can help reduce these symptoms without adding to the risk of other potential health problems.

Why Can The Menopause Be Late

The Menopause usually starts around the age of 50, for some women, it can start quite later than that, the reasons are not really known, why menopause comes late in some women. Certainly bad lifestyle, smoking, and drinking can bring on the early onset of menopause.

So in some ways a late start to the menopause could be reflective of a slightly better lifestyle.

A good guide is the age that your mother was when she started the menopause, medical conditions aside, these things are often genetic. Certainly people who have also taken regular exercise throughout their life can be later going into menopause, and when they do start they do usually experience lesser symptoms.

Medical studies have proved that getting good regular sleep is essential for good health during menopause, some of the symptoms of the menopause can include anxiety, sadness and mood swings.

It is quite important that women do try to get enough sleep to ensure that we are prepared both physically and mentally to cope with whatever the day throws at them

Some of the symptoms can be rather unpleasant, night sweats and hot flushes can cause sleep to be disturbed. There are some good herbal remedies that will help with controlling these side effects.

A good diet is also important during the menopause as it helps to maintain good health from within.

As with any medical problems, if you have any concerns you should of course consult with your doctor. They can confirm your symptoms with simple blood tests to check your hormone levels and depending on the result can offer the necessary treatments.

Hormone Replacement Therapy is the common course of treatment offered by doctors, its benefits are well documented, but there are also concerns regarding its long term use and whether it is detrimental to our health.

Article on Hormone Replacement Therapy

What ever your symptoms you can be assured that there is a solution to the problems caused by the menopause.

Product Review – Menopace

Menopace is available at Boots and other high street and on-line suppliers

Menopace is currently claimed to be the #1 menopause remedy in the UK

Designed for women during the lead up to, during and after the menopause, it provides a good source of essential nutrients that , it is claimed, adjust the imbalance of hormones associated with the menopause and help reducing the symptoms. Suitable for vegetarians, it contains a good mix of vitamins including Vitamins A,D,E,C, B1,B2,B3 and B6. It also could help with maintaining good levels of calcium, essential for strong bones.

The manufacturers tell us that Menopace is endorsed by BUPA,

Doseage

1 tablet a day should be taken with food, and it is suitable for long term use

Does Menopace Work?

Our research does show a great deal of success with the reduction of hot flushes, but the claim that it boosts or re vitalises a lack of sex drive does not seem to be as successful. Users have recorded a complete lack of libido whist taking this product

Price Comparison

At around £6 for a box of 30 tablets, it certainly is cheap, maybe in our opinion it could be possibly too cheap

Product review – Boots Menolieve

This product is quite a traditional plant extract product that is aimed at reducing the symptoms of menopause, in-particular the horrible night sweats, hot flushes and mood swings. Its main component is the root extract of the plant known as Back Cohosh which is a well established remedy for these symptoms.

How do I take Menolieve

For oral use only, One tablet of Menolieve should be taken daily, the manufacturers specify to try and take it at the same time daily (morning or evening). Should be taken with water, but not chewed

Does Menolieve Work

Its hard to judge this one, even the Boots’ own website does not have any customer reviews.

Certainly Black Cohosh is known to have properties that help with the menopause symptoms, but there are other products on the market that contain a higher level (than the 6.5mg per tablet) of the core ingredient.

Price Comparison

Price wise this retails at £8.99 for 30 tablets, so still quite cheap

Buy Bo0ts Menopace

Product Review – Novogen Redclover isoflavones

These tablets are available at Boots and some other high street stockists and on line retailers

Its main ingredient is isoflavines which are often used to help treat some symptoms of the menopause. Manufacturers state that it is safe for women over the age of 18 which we find strange especially when it is aimed at menopause treatments – often for women around the age of 50.

The majority of British diets do not include foods that contain sufficient amounts of isoflavones, These are only found in certain pulses such as lentils, chickpeas and soy beans.

These natural isoflavones can mimic the effect of naturally occurring oestrogen and help ease the symptoms of the menopause

How to Use

Take one Novogen Redclover Isoflavones tablet daily.

A dose of Novogen Redclover Isoflavones contains 40mg of isoflavones

Does Novogen Redclover Work

Again while Red Clover is well known and documented to help with the menopause, The Boots’ website does not have any customer reviews to enable us to compare its product with other similar supplements

More about Red Clover Products

Price Comparison

Novogen Red Clover retails at £18.99 for 30 Tablets, this is quite expensive, there are other products available offering the same doseage for considerably less

Buy Novogen Red Clover

Alternative Red Clover products

Product Review – MedicHerb MenoHerb

This is another traditional menopausal remedy based around the effective plant extract Black Cohosh. This is known for its properties that help ease hot flushes, night sweats and the mood swings associated with this time of life.

What is MenoHerb?

Menoherb provides 6.5mg per dose of the dry root extract from the herb Black Cohosh

Coming from the same family as the common buttercup, Black Cohosh was discovered by the native Indians in America as an effective relief for the menopause.

Dosage:

Menoherb should be taken at one a day with water or other liquid, it is quite important to swallow, and not chew the tablets and try to take the tablets at the same time every day..

Does MenoHerb Work?

Black Cohosh is widely accepted as one of the most effective menopausal relief supplements available to buy.

However we are unable to actually locate any customer reviews on this particular product.

The dosage in these tablets is 6.5mg of the active ingredient per dose which is quite low, there are alternative products offering more effective doses at similar prices.

Alternative Black Cohosh Products

Price Comparison

Menoherb retails at around £10 for one months supply (30 tablets)

Buy Menoherb Tablets
